MINORITIES IN RESEARCH SCIENCE CONFERENCE
Heralds Top Minorities in Science
Baltimore, MD - Following its successful Nashville debut, the Minorities
in Research Science Conference comes to the Baltimore Convention Center,
September 15 - 17, 2005.
The professional development event for minorities in the research
sciences, the conference will bring together those from a broad range of
scientific fields including: physics, nuclear science and chemistry,
computer science, aeronautics, medicine, and biomedical technology,
among others.
In addition to career fairs, networking sessions and the prestigious
Emerald Honors Ceremony - recognizing the achievements of top minorities
in science, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in
professional development and training seminars and workshops and, for
the first time, receive continuing education credits.
Formerly known as the Emerald Honors Awards Conference, the new name
reflects the true depth and breadth of this unique forum for addressing
urgent issues within the scientific arena, particularly those pertaining
to minorities.
Other highlights of this year's conference include: a Town Hall Meeting
on "Healthcare Disparity in Minority Communities", a Diversity Career
Expo, and Corporate Career Counseling Breakfast Roundtables. For more
details on these, plus information on the Health Fair, Science Fair, and
Career Fair for Students go to http://www.ccgmedia.com

"Multicultural communities are where the action is in finding, preparing
and recruiting a new generation of science researchers in the U.S.",
says Dr. Tyrone D. Taborn, editor in chief of Science Spectrum magazine
and CEO of Career Communications Group, Inc., producers of the
conference and publishers of Science Spectrum. "Clearly, if we are to
bring on a new cohort of science talent, we will have to engage the
interests and dreams of people in the multicultural communities. To do
that, we will have to be innovative, recognizing that in today's media
environment, high visibility is everything."
Focused on recognizing and promoting exemplary performance in the field
of science, the Minorities in Research Science conference provides that
visibility. To register go to http://www.ccgmedia.com
