APIAHF's HIV Program conducts policy advocacy on HIV/AIDS issues relevant for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities and provides capacity building resources and training to community based organizations, state and local health departments and community stakeholders through its organizational development, program development, community mobilization, community planning and policy projects. The HIV Program Director will be responsible for directing the HIV Program and providing leadership on issues related to HIV/AIDS for the agency. S/He will provide leadership in coordinating, monitoring and evaluating all activities of the program and will supervise staff. Together with other senior management staff, s/he is responsible for strategic planning, program and policy development, fund development, staff development and evaluation. The Program Director reports directly to the Deputy Director. Duties and Responsibilities: * Direct the development and implementation of HIV programmatic and policy advocacy work in accordance with the organization's mission and strategy * Build and maintain a highly visible presence in the national HIV/AIDS programs and policy arenas * Represent APIAHF at national, state, and local forums, conferences and meeting as the lead agency spokesperson on HIV/AIDS * Develop strategic relationships and collaborations among constituents, other advocacy organizations, funders and policy makers. * Conduct fund raising for the HIV program including seeking and developing proposals. * Ensures program compliance with federal, state and other funder guidelines. * Coordinate, manage and monitor program budget, contracts and workplans including being a liaison with funding sources for contract and program oversight * Supervise and manage program staff. * Participate with other management staff in agency wide strategic planning, program development, fund development, staff development and evaluations. * Provide organizational leadership including being an agency spokesperson. * Travel for work-related meetings and events as necessary. * Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: * Graduate degree or equivalent experience in health, social work, public policy or related fields. * Five years + of experience in high level management including designing, implementing and managing large project workplans and budgets. * Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including public speaking. * Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and community stakeholders. * Strong initiative, creativity and motivation, including ability to work under pressure with deadlines. * Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. * Demonstrated experience working effectively in team environment. * Ability to travel as part of work responsibilities.
